    How the System Is Built

The actual layers and materials — and why each one matters for the finished floor.

    1. 1
      Clean and degrease

Acrylic sealers bond to the surface, not deep into the slab — so the slab needs to be genuinely clean. Pressure wash, degrease where needed, and let the slab fully dry.

    2. 2
      Crack and joint detail

Open cracks and movement joints get filled with a compatible flexible filler before sealer goes down.

    3. 3
      First acrylic coat (wetting)

First coat goes down thin and wets the surface — this is the bonding pass. It penetrates surface pores and enhances color and texture.

    4. 4
      Second acrylic coat (build)

Second coat builds the protective film and final sheen — satin or gloss depending on the spec.

    5. 5
      Optional anti-slip additive

Pool decks, walkways, and entries get a fine-grain anti-slip additive blended into the second coat so the sealed surface stays safe when wet.

    Benefits

What this system actually delivers in daily use.

    • Most cost-effective protection for outdoor concrete — pennies per square foot annually
    • Enhances and deepens existing concrete color and stamping texture
    • UV protection prevents the fading common in unsealed driveways and stamped patios
    • Breathable film lets moisture vapor escape the slab — won't blister like a non-breathable epoxy
    • Easy to reapply when worn — usually a clean-and-recoat with no full removal
    • Reduces dusting from interior warehouse and shop floors

Our Process for Acrylic Concrete Sealing

    Step-by-step from consultation through return-to-service.

    1. 1
      Surface clean

Pressure wash, degrease, and inspect. Stamped concrete needs the texture pockets blown clear of debris.

    2. 2
      Repairs and joint detail

Crack fill, joint detail, and any necessary patching before sealer.

    3. 3
      First sealer coat

Thin wetting coat applied with sprayer or roller. Penetrates and enhances color.

    4. 4
      Second sealer coat

Build coat, optional anti-slip additive. Light traffic same day; vehicle traffic 24-48 hours.

    What to Expect

Acrylic sealers are the right tool for outdoor concrete where you want protection and color enhancement at the lowest cost per square foot, and you accept that you'll reapply every few years. In DFW, expect 2-4 years on driveways and patios with full sun exposure before the next refresh, longer in shaded areas. Solvent-based acrylics give richer color enhancement; water-based acrylics give a flatter look and lower VOCs — we'll recommend based on your space and any HOA or municipal rules. The reapplication is the trade-off versus a full polyaspartic system, but for many homeowners the lower upfront cost and easier refresh cycle is the right choice.
